ABOUT NORTH YELL DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL

North Yell Development Council (NYDC) exists to encourage the community’s efforts to thrive as a self-sustaining, ambitious and carbon neutral community.

The council’s core objectives are to support Enterprise, Initiative, and Self-help and it has a long, proud history of helping foster a spirit of entrepreneurialism and resilience – inspired by the spectacular surroundings and bountiful natural resources.

Energy Grant Scheme

In June 2023 North Yell Development Council launched Shetland’s first Energy Grant Scheme. 

Cullivoe Industrial Estate

The Cullivoe Industrial Estate is a two phase development located at the Cullivoe Pier and is home to 14 Business Sites. If you are interested in renting a site in Cullivoe email office@northyell.co.uk

North Yell Marina

The new North Yell Marina, opened in May 2022, has 23 berths as well as 5 visitor berths. The Marina has a brand new amenity building with toilet and shower facilities, washing machines and an eBike rental service.

NYDC and Garth Wind AGM

The NYDC and Garth Wind AGMs were held last week on 30th May and we were delighted with the turn out from Directors and Members of the public. We circulated an NYDC Year End Report which you can read here which details all the work NYDC have done over the 23/24 financial year.
